Despite reports, Lisa Kudrow is NOT adopting Matthew Perry’s dog, Alfred.

Earlier this week, The Daily Mail reported that Kudrow was interested in adopting Perry’s dog after Perry passed away on the 28th. Now, according to US Weekly, that’s no longer the case, as the dog did not belong to Perry at the time of his passing.

Perry shared Alfred with his ex-fiancée, Molly Hurwitz. After the two split, Alfred stayed with Hurwitz. So, despite fans losing their minds over this now-confirmed false rumor, it looks like this feel-good story was too good to be true.

Lisa Kudrow and the Rest of the ‘Friends’ Cast Released a Joint Statement Over Matthew Perry’s Passing

Earlier this week, Lisa Kudrow and the rest of the Friends cast released a public statement on Matthew Perry’s passing. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer shared the statement online on Monday afternoon.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. (And) We are a family,” the statement reads. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”

“In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” the statement continues. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

Friends fans quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions to the statement. One fan posted they are mourning alongside the cast. “Matthew had a great impact on our lives and so did the rest of the cast of Friends. Loved his work in ’17 Again’ as well. What a phenomenal actor. Rest in Power, Matthew.”

Another Friends fan called for the media to give the cast privacy as they mourn. “The press has to learn when to back off and let friends and family mourn. There will be a time soon, when mourning will turn into a celebration of Matthew’s life and they will then be ok with speaking publicly.”

Matthew Perry passed away on October 28th at his Los Angeles-area home. He was 54 years old at the time of his death.
