She is an actress, comedian, television host, model and producer, perhaps best recognized from her role of Joan Clayton in the situation comedy “Girlfriends” (2000–2008). Ross is the winner of four NAACP Image Awards and BET Comedy Award. Tracee Ellis Ross has been accumulating her net worth being active in the entertainment industry since 1996.

Tracee has a half brother who is the musician and actor Evan Ross. She was educated at the Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland, as well as New Walden Lincoln in Manhattan, New York USA. Ross graduated from Brown University in 1994 with a BA degree in theatre, however, her first source of income was in modelling. In 1996, she debuted on the big screen in the film “Far Harbor” (1996). Subsequently, she appeared in the feature films “Sue Lost in Manhattan” (1997), “A Fare to Remember” (1998), “Hanging Up” (2000) and “In the Weeds” (2000).

Then, Tracee Ellis Ross rose to fame by landing the lead role in the television series “Girlfriends” (2000–2008) created by Mara Brock Akil. For the above mentioned role Ross was nominated 12 times for awards and won two NAACP Image Awards as the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series, and BET Comedy Award as the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Meanwhile, she was cast as the main star in the romantic comedy drama “Daddy’s Little Girls” (2007) directed, co-produced and written by Tyler Perry. Then, Ross received critical acclaim for her role in the television film “Five” (2011) which was followed by nominations for a NAACP Image Award and Black Reel Award. Other successful roles were the characters of doctors; psychologist Dr. Carla Reed landed in the sitcom “Reed Between the Lines” (2011), and anaesthetist Dr. Rainbow Johnson in the sitcom “Black-ish” (2014–present). Each of the above mentioned roles brought the actress NAACP Image Awards in the category of the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
