Will Ferrell and Chad Smith Team Up For Charity Benefit

Comedian Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith not only look similar to one another, they’re also working together to throw what they call the “Red Hot Benefit Comedy + Music Show & Quinceanera”.

Smith will be bringing the RHCP and Ferrell will be accompanied by his Funny or Die team, and each will invite other musical and comedy acts for a true all-star gathering.

According to Ferrell, his “one great regret” was never celebrating his quinceanera, despite having seen many of his friends celebrate theirs. “Well, on April 29th at the Shrine Auditorium, with Red Hot Chili Peppers and a bunch of other really talented comedians and musicians by my side, we are going to right that wrong, and everyone is invited,” he says.

This isn’t the first time the Ferrell-Smith duo has teamed up for goodwill. In May 2014, they were on The Tonight Show and engaged in a Drum Off, garnering almost $500,000 for charity. As on The Tonight Show, Ferrell’s contributions from the benefit will go to Cancer for College, and Smith’s will go to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

You can purchase tickets for the benefit, which go on sale for Citi cardholders on March 8 and the general public on March 11, here, and be sure to check out their official site here!
